The White Boars

Plate IA few of the regulars. Someone will be along with another chair.
A small matter of democracy

So you lost the faction vote.

For Alliance players on Horde with friends Read more

You wanted Alliance. Your mates wanted Horde. There was a vote. Apparently, you’re an orc now.

At least you should get to pick the guild. Here’s the five-step recovery plan.

  1. Request a recount.

Discover the votes are still in the group chat. Withdraw your request.

  2. Join The White Boars.

You lost Stormwind. You can still have a decent local.

  3. Invite your Horde friends.

They got their faction. They can carry your bags for a bit.

  4. Find yourselves a dungeon.

Halfway through, someone takes a wrong turn. You remember why you came with them.

  5. Keep an Alliance alt.

For the architecture. And the quiet satisfaction of having been right.

I About

Your local, wherever you log in.

There’s the friend who always has spare bags. The one who knows a shortcut. The one who follows them anyway. After a while, you recognise people by their laugh before you look at who’s joined the channel.

That’s the sort of guild we want The White Boars to be. A place to drop in after work, find a few familiar voices, and see what the evening turns into. New faces are welcome. There’s room at the table.

We intend to raid. Or at least support those who do. Bring your flasks, your fishing rod, or a story about the journey over. Someone will want to hear it.

Horde PvP is our main guild. Our Alliance RP-PvP guild is home for alts and side adventures.

II Discord

Pull up a chair.

Discord is our back room. Say hello, ask if anyone fancies a dungeon, or settle in and listen for a bit. You don’t have to arrive with a group of friends to find one here.

III Guild Rules

Look after the place.

  1. Make room for one more.

Say hello to new faces. If someone’s looking for a group, see if you can bring them along.

  2. Share fairly.

Roll for what you’ll use. Ask before taking something for an alt. Remember who still needs a turn.

  3. Know when to leave it.

A good joke leaves everyone laughing. If someone asks you to stop, stop.

  4. Own your mistakes.

Admit the extra pull. Explain the fight to someone learning it. We’ll all need the same kindness eventually.

  5. Let people have a life.

Work runs late. Children wake up. Let the group know when you can, and give each other some grace.

IV The club shop

Something for the regulars.

Matching pyjamas started to seem quite reasonable somewhere around the third dungeon. For nights spent together, several hundred miles apart.

V The wine cellar

Something for the table.

Good company tends to come with recommendations. A book, a walking route, a bottle worth trying.

For the wine drinkers among us, here’s Last Bottle’s current offer. Bring your own glass. The one beside the keyboard has a pen in it.
